Add Warmth to a Room with Wood
This notion of contemporary style being cold is not a new objection. So, it’s important to bring in natural materials to help articulate that warm feeling. Luckily, the home sellers already had walnut colored wood flooring to work with in the kitchen pictured above. Simply add green plants to surfaces and create soft focal points around the room. Contemporary homes used to mean hard edges and lots of glass and steel. Now it means functional spaces without extra fuss and embellishment, and open plan, with lots of light and good flow.
