Eat-In-Kitchen Home Staging Design Concepts For Today’s Stay-At-Home Families

REALTORS know that the heart of a home is the kitchen. When buyers tour homes, the kitchen is what they are most interested to see first. It helps them determine the potential for cooking, gathering, and entertaining. Let’s look at three eat-in-kitchens to see how we created a cozy and welcoming environment for families of all sizes.

Larger Gathering Eat-In-Kitchen, Home Staging

Eat In Kitchen Home Staging St Charles

This kitchen does feature a center island with bench seating. There is also ample space for six to eight seats for meals and holiday gatherings. The kitchen’s space allowed for extra seating, so we were able to bring in a good sized rectangular table with plush gray velvet bucket chairs.

“Our goal for this kitchen was to give the buyer the full impression of how large of a gathering they could host,” Says Margaret Gehr, Founder and Co-Owner of Chicagoland Home Staging. “There is such a trend moving away from traditional dining rooms and into open concept kitchens. Here we emphasized that the buyer can host parties in the kitchen just as successfully as any other area of the home!”

Cozy Eat-In-Kitchen, Home Staging

For homes that don’t have the extra space in their kitchen and feature a smaller eat-in-area, our goal is to make the room feel as large as possible. In this kitchen, we featured a circular glass table to give the illusion of more space and because circular tables allow seating to fit more snuggly in a cozy setting.

“Smaller eat-in-kitchens can still be a selling point for the buyer if staged with the correct furniture. White straight-back chairs give a streamlined visual for this kitchen table,” Says Kathy Lobkovich, Co-Owner of Chicagoland Home Staging. “The color and the shape will offer more space to the area while still giving an aesthetic of finer furnishings.”

Eat-In-Kitchen Plus Living Space, Home Staging

You can really let your buyer’s imagination fly with a biger-than-big kitchen. This space is luxurious enough to not only include a circular eat-in with five chairs, but also a living area with arm chairs. Here, four white plush chairs with sleek pillows orbit a white marble circular table with a clean brass frame. Pulling the living space into cohesion and defining the area, we chose a ribbed white and gray rug to match not only the arm chairs, but also the grey from the eat-in-kitchen table chairs.

“We love creating a space that the buyer envisions for multiple uses,” Says Kathy Lobkovich, Co-Owner of Chicagoland Home Staging. “With versatility comes a wider set of buyer demographics. So many homeowners are looking for spaces to do remote schooling, office work, host family members, and entertain. This design brings out those situations for the buyer and starts a conversation for really selling the home as the perfect choice for them.”

Whether it is a back corner or a transitional hallway, we are always reconsidering the spaces that commonly get overlooked. Commonly viewed as bare and stark, areas like this are full of potential for lounging and relaxation.

“Every element in the room is placed with a purpose. From matching table lighting on either side of the fireplace, to candles and home decorative signage, we’re setting a mood for warmth and refreshment.
