Home Staging Works: Nearly 1-Million Dollar Home Sold in 1 Day

This Georgian style home in Hinsdale needed a more sophisticated, light and bright upgrade that only the Chicagoland Home Staging team could provide. The red brick home on Ravine Road blends original details with contemporary interior design.

Our team came up with a plan to combine the two styles with chic, neutral furnishings that would help highlights the home’s amazing features including: fireplaces, french doors, upgraded kitchen appliances and dark wood floors.

This property sold in 1 day for nearly 1-million dollars after our team brought in furnishings for the main rooms of this home. Take a look at what a difference home staging can make.

Simplify the Foyer

The front door ushers you into an elegant, yet simplified foyer, that then opens up into the living room. Our team found the perfect sized bench to nestle up under the staircase and added a couple throw pillows to complete the look.

Neutralizing the Living Room

In the living room, our team brought in a neutral rug to anchor a light gray colored couch and two accent chairs. Notice they reconfigured the furniture layout by placing the couch across from the fireplace and moving the accent chairs to the opposite side of the room to welcome buyers in from the foyer.

Check out the angle from the other side of the living room in the images above. The homeowners had a dark hutch and camel leathered chair in the corner, eating up valuable space. Not to mention the hutch was blocking a crucial window. It’s important to never block windows when it comes time to sell a home, because we want to take advantage of all the natural light entering the space. Just look at the difference removing the hutch makes.

This also gave the team the opportunity to create a separate seating area next to the window to maximize the space available in the living room.

Highlight the Heart of the Home

The kitchen inside this property was completely renovated to pay homage to tradition with crisp white cabinetry, while offering present-day comforts including: Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, black stone countertops, a farmhouse sink and open cabinets.

We also replaced the furniture in the dining area that opens up from the kitchen. We chose a round table to make the french doors out to the backyard more accessible for buyers to envision themselves entertaining in this space.

This picture perfect home provided upgrades and character to charm the buyer with its rich hardwood floors throughout the first and second levels, arched doorways, columns, millwork and architectural moldings. The furnishings that Chicagoland Home Staging brought in complimented the “great bones” already in this property to expedite the sale of the home.

This property is proof, home staging works, even with small changes! If you’re looking to sell your Hinsdale property feel free to contact us today for a quote to learn more about our services.
